James R. “Jamie Rose” Oden, 51, Mentone, passed away on April 21, 2021, in Colorado Springs, Colo.
He was born Oct. 3, 1969, in Langley, Va., the son of James M. and Linda (Masterson) Oden. He was a Tippecanoe Valley High School graduate.
He had been a truck driver previously working for Moran Trucking out of Warsaw and had been a large machine operator. He had been active in his Mentone Community and enjoyed cooking, watching movies, comic books, supporting the LGBTQ community and time with his daughter.
Survivors include his daughter, Sarah Marie (David) Gilbert, Bloomington; sister, Ellen (Ray) Boardman, Rochester; niece, Nicole Lin Boardman, Rochester; nephew, Martin William Boardman, with the U.S. Navy in Hawaii; several great niece and nephews; uncle, Fred Oden, Rochester; cousins, Michelle (Don) Rairigh, Jacksonville, Fla.; Kimberly (Denny) Sentor and children, Culver; Fred Oden and children, Rochester.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be conducted at 3 p.m. Friday April 30, at Zimmerman Bros. Funeral Home, Rochester. Friends may visit from 1-3 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Sycamore
