Northridge 5, NorthWood 0
Northridge earned a big win in the Northern Lakes Conference with a 5-0 shutout at NorthWood Monday afternoon.
Ridge swept all three singles courts, led by matching 6-1, 6-0 wins by Riley Wheatly and Lilah Dean over Gabriella Umbower and Britton Jesse. Maia Schmucker overcame a tiebreaker in the first set to win 7-6 (3), 6-1 against Ashlyn Feller.
Taylin Cress and Morgan Mack took care of Kate Stillson and Paige Henschen 6-4, 6-3 and in the lone three-setter of the night, Peyton Kieper and Brynne Gaylor withstood Emery Porter and Amy Adams 4-6, 6-3, 6-3.
NorthWood (2-3, 2-2 NLC) would see four of its JV courts earn wins, all four in the doubles circuit.
Fort Wayne Carroll 4, Warsaw 1
The Chargers stopped in Tiger Town and pulled off a solid tennis win.
All three of its singles courts were victorious, led by wins from Cecelia Martin over Regan Brouwer, one and one, and Tori Skender over Megan Mishler, one and love. Maggie Brennan capped the singles play with a four and three winner against Paige Zawadzki at No. 1 singles.
Carroll’s Emily Davis and Sam Hess were able to put away Marie Frazzetta and Peri Britton two and two, but Warsaw’s Anna Brehany and Kennedy Wiedeman posted a 6-3, 7-6 (7-4) victory against Kenzie Lynch and Brooke Hoekema.
