WARSAW – In aiming to give its students a chance to be prepared if and when the phone rings, Warsaw Community High School is sponsoring a college bound athlete seminar on May 10 in the Performing Arts Center.
Led by Warsaw athletic director Matt Binkerd, the seminar is geared to Warsaw athletes looking to compete at the collegiate level in any of its 22 varsity sports or numerous club programs. The seminar will include guest speaking sessions from Warsaw sports information director Roger Grossman, Grace College athletic director Chad Briscoe and women’s tennis coach Marcus Moore, Warsaw strength coach Andrew Childress, Warsaw NG3 and baseball coach Aaron Christenberry and Warsaw assistant athletic director Roman Smith.
The speakers will briefly cover a variety of angles on the college approach, including academic versus athletic scholarships, what colleges are looking for, off campus expectations and social media presence among other topics in the hour-long session.
The seminar will begin at 7 p.m. and last roughly an hour.
