Joyce A. Pawlak — UPDATED
Joyce A. Pawlak, 80, Columbia City, passed away at 4:05 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born Aug. 7, 1940, in South Bend, she was the daughter of Joseph and Helen (Murphy) Bonjorno.
Joyce attended Washington Clay High School in South Bend and graduated with the Class of 1958. On Feb. 8, 1964, she married Gerald Pawlak at St. Stanislaus Catholic Church, South Bend. Joyce worked for many years as a clerical assistant at IPFW, Fort Wayne. She was a member of St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church. Joyce enjoyed reading, eating out at her favorite restaurants, baking, spending time with her grandchildren, and her dog Duke.
Survivors include her husband Gerald Pawlak of Columbia City; children Jeff (Karen) Pawlak of Fort Wayne and Rene Greenlee of Westport, CT; 6 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents and sister Jean Franks.
Memorial calling will be 9 to 11 a.m. Friday, May 7, at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church, 315 S. Line Street, Columbia City. Mass of Christian Burial begin at 11 a.m. and she will be laid to rest at St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Cemetery. Arrangements by DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Drive, Columbia City.
Face masks are required for attendance at the church.
Memorial donations may be made in Joyce’s memory to St. Paul of the Cross Catholic Church or the Humane Society of Whitley County.
