WARSAW — Warsaw Community Schools’ Board of Trustees heard financial reports on planned renovations and summer projects during a work session on Tuesday, April 13.
Chief Financial Officer April Fitterling presented three contracts from the school’s maintenance department for outer building and campus area landscape maintenance, as well as turf products for 2021.
Contracts with Green Team Turf and Wihebrink Landscape Management, costing $16,200 and $28,945 respectively, both include spring clean-up, mid-summer trim and prune, and fall clean-up and cutback.
Green Team is contracted for landscape maintenance at Claypool, Eisenhower, Harrison, Jefferson, Leesburg and Madison Elementary Schools, as well as Lakeview Middle School. WLM does landscaping work at Warsaw Community High School, Washington STEM Academy, Edgewood Middle School and the school district’s central office.
Fitterling also presented several quotes to board members for upcoming additions to classrooms within the school district. She said 17 classrooms at Lakeview will each be getting two new whiteboards. A bladder tank at Leesburg Elementary is also set for replacement.
In other business, the board heard an out-of-state travel request involving WCHS Football Coach Bart Curtis. The request was presented by WCS Director of Human Resources Sheila Howe. Curtis is requesting to travel to Philadelphia, Pa., from May 14-15 for the National Wing-T Clinic.
Quotes for projects, as well as the travel request, will be approved at the board’s next meeting, which is at 7 p.m. Monday, April 19, at Claypool Elementary School.
