Local Author Leads Publication Class
Press Release
WARSAW — Registration is currently available for a new writing class at Warsaw Community Public Library.
The class, titled “Let’s Talk Writing,” will be led by Ashley Miller, local author and columnist. Miller designed and will be leading the year-long class. Participants will learn the process of writing, editing, publishing and marketing their work. Each student will submit their project to a panel at the Warsaw Library for a chance to win a writing competition. The winner will be recognized through a press release and across several social media platforms. Each student will have a chance to pursue the publishing process. This class is free and is geared toward those ages 14 and up. Anyone interested in signing up should do so before May 5, as spots are limited and filling up.
Miller began her journalism career in early 2019 when she began writing her column for the Warsaw Times-Union titled “All About That Food.” Since then she has been a reporter for The Lakes Magazine and has published three books titled “Goal Mapping Your Successful Business,” “Cooking With The Village At Winona,” and “Let’s Talk Writing (April 2020).”
Miller will also be featured in an interview at the Warsaw Library on April 20 to discuss her cookbook, “Cooking With The Village At Winona.” Her book has been popular here in the local area and among local food enthusiasts interested in the preservation of memories and traditions of Winona Lake. Those interested are welcome to watch the interview on the WCPL Facebook Live at 2 p.m. Tuesday, April 20.
Miller believes the writing process is exhilarating and therapeutic as she enjoys writing about food culture and travel. Her works can be found and purchased online. She is also on Facebook and Instagram at Ashley Miller Books.
