Marion Woman Dies In Saturday Night Accident On SR 15

WARSAW — A Marion woman was killed in a two-vehicle crash on Saturday night, April 10.
Sandra K. Galbraith, 50, a passenger in one of the vehicles, was pronounced dead at the scene by the Kosciusko County Coroner’s Office at the accident on SR 15 north of CR 550S in Clay Township south of Warsaw.
Emergency personnel responded to the collision at about 10:23 p.m.
According to the preliminary results of the ongoing investigation conducted by the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office Fatal Team, a 2005 Ford Explorer driven by James C. Lewis, 44, Elkhart, was traveling northbound and crossed the centerline of the state highway.
It collided with a 1998 Chevrolet Suburban that was headed south and driven by Donald G. Galbraith, 48, Marion.
Galbraith was extricated by firefighters. He complained of upper leg pain and was airlifted to a Fort Wayne hospital. Lewis complained of entire body pain and was also transported to a hospital.
Responding to the scene were the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office, Claypool Police Department, Warsaw Police Department, Claypool Fire Department, Warsaw-Wayne Fire Territory, Silver Lake Fire Department, Lutheran EMS and the Lutheran Air Ambulance.
