Bethel L. Barth

Bethel L. Barth, 85, Milford, passed away at 4:27 p.m. on Thursday, April 8, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital of Indiana in Fort Wayne.

She was born on June 6, 1935, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Homer and Edith Holbrook Howard. She attended Warsaw Public Schools and moved to Milford in 1963 from Elkhart.

She was married on Aug. 10, 1951, in Warsaw, to William G. “Bill” Barth, who preceded her on Feb. 15, 2007, and she was a homemaker.

She is survived by five daughters: Nancy (Tom) Levernier, of Milford; Barb Barth, of Milford; Cathy Vanlaningham, of Milford; Laurie Barth, of Syracuse; and Kelly Hutchison, of North Webster; 14 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; seven great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Ethel Thompson, of Warsaw.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband; daughter, Teresa Barth; son, Bill Barth; two sisters, Jewel Scoles and Mary Woods; and four brothers:?Beecher Howard, Donnie Prater, Callahan “Butch” Prater and Clayton Prater.

Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. on Tuesday, April 13 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will follow at 7 p.m. in the funeral home on Tuesday, with Lisa Ensz officiating. Private family graveside services will take place in the Milford Cemetery.
