WARSAW — A Warsaw man was apprehended Wednesday, April 7, after briefly fleeing from the Kosciusko County Justice Building.
Ryan J. Prater, 33, Heritage Lane, Warsaw, was taken into police custody shortly after fleeing the justice building where he had had a probation meeting, said Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Chief Deputy Shane Bucher.
The incident happened at about 2:30 p.m.
“It was discovered that he had an active warrant for him for a probation violation,” said Bucher. “Our court security went down to take him to the jail. As he was handcuffed and was escorted to the jail, he fled from the officer and exited the building.”
Prater went out the front door of the justice building and ended up a block to the east behind the Zimmer Hotel, 201 N. Buffalo St., where he was arrested.
He is now facing a charge of fleeing law enforcement.
