Don E. Hanft
Don E. Hanft died Thursday, April 1, 2021.
He was born to the late Everett and Eva Weaver Hanft in Warsaw Oct. 2, 1938. He was an owner of Fitch’s Jewelry Store early in his career and an avid watchmaker for most of his life. He retired from the jewelry business a few years after moving to Richmond, Texas, nearly 15 years ago with his wife, Beverly Hanft.
His true passion was fast cars. Don was proud of his list of previously owned cars such as his ‘57 Chevy and his personally restored Austin Healy. Don was soft spoken but would often have some quick comebacks. He had a great sense of humor and a deep love for his family.
Don is preceeded in death by his parents and oldest son, Brett Hanft.
Don is survived by his wife, Beverly Hanft; fur baby, Toby; daughter, Kelly Boley (husband Tony); grandkids, Ross and Grant Clements; son, Kyle Hanft (wife Rhonda); grandkids, Stuart and Braxton Hanft; daughter, Krista Nicholson; grandkids, Lauren Miller, Logan and Keaten Irwin; son, Bart Hanft (wife Cathy); grandkids, Eva and Erik Hanft; stepsons, Matt Buchman (wife Pam); grandkids, Courtney (wife Kelsi) and Cameron Buchman; Craig (wife Tina) grandkids, Alex and Ethan Buchman; Scott (wife Alanna); grandkids, Isabel and Abbey Buchman.
Don will be deeply missed by all his friends, family and all who knew him. To Pops, It was the simple things that meant the most.
