Holcomb Directs Flags To Be Lowered Following DC Attack
News Release
INDIANAPOLIS – Gov. Eric Holcomb is directing flags across the state to be flown at half-staff in honor of the victims of Friday’s attack at the United States Capitol.
The attack killed one U.S. Capitol Police officer and injured another.
Noah Green, 25, allegedly slammed his vehicle into a fence outside the Capitol just after 1 p.m. Friday and struck two officers before crashing into a barricade. Numerous reports claim Green is from Indiana and a follower of the Nation of Islam. He was killed by police.
Holcomb’s order follows one by President Joe Biden, ordering flags be flown at half-staff until sunset on Tuesday, April 6.
Holcomb also asks businesses and residents to lower their flags to half-staff.
