Dennis E. Wilson
Dennis E. Wilson, 75, rural Claypool, passed unexpectedly at 10:39 am, Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at his residence.
Dennis was born on Jan. 7, 1946, in Cincinnati, Ohio to the late Robert E. and Charlotte E. (Steimeier) Wilson. He married on Nov. 19, 1992 in Paris, Ky. to Jody S. Hudson Wise, she survives.
Dennis was a 1964 graduate of North Manchester High School. He then graduated from the University of Washington in 1968 and Brown University in 1970. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Army from 1965 to 1994. He had worked for Zimmer Orthopedics of Warsaw and Ford Meter Box of Wabash. He was a member of the American Legion of Hartford City, Indiana, the Masonic Lodge Post 61 of Wabash, Scottish Rite and Mizpah Shrine of Fort Wayne, the United Suffolk Sheep Association, and the National Rifle Association. He always enjoyed raising and showing Suffolk Sheep as well as scuba diving and rifle shooting.
Dennis is survived by his wife Jody Wilson of Claypool, stepdaughter Rickell and husband Duane Kline of Claypool, grandchildren Kara, Kendra and Kaleb, a sister Julie E. Gaerte, North Manchester, and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and stepdaughter Larchell Wise.
The funeral service will take place at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, April 6, at King Memorial Home 101 North Tucker Street Mentone, Indiana with Pastor Duane Kline officiating.
The interment will take place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone, with graveside military rites performed by the American Legion Post #49 of Warsaw.
Visitation hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, April 5, at King Memorial Home, Mentone.
