Lynn Parker
Lynn Parker, 75, of rural Silver Lake, passed at 6:17 p.m. Thursday, March 25, 2021, at Lutheran Hospital of Fort Wayne.
He was born on Dec. 13, 1945, in Warsaw, to the late Rex and Geraldine Tucker Parker. He was married on Aug. 9, 1968, in Silver Lake, to Dianna Kay Allen; she survives.
Lynn graduated from Mentone High School in 1964, where he was his class president and played baseball, basketball and ran cross country. He graduated from Middle Tennessee State University in 1968 with a bachelor’s degree in animal science and a minor in business. He served four years in ROTC at MTSU and three years in the United States Army as a lieutenant special agent. He started farming at Lakeside Dairy Farms in 1971.
Lynn was a loving and devoted father, grandfather, son and husband. He and Dianna were married for 52 years and his love for her was undeniable. He was known to be a big supporter of his children and grandchildren in all of their sporting events. He was a hard-working farmer who never complained a day in his life. Lynn was known for his selfless personality, always putting others before himself. He was a faithful servant of God who was looking forward to his homecoming in Heaven. He, along with his family, attended Warsaw Community Church.
He is survived by his wife, Dianna Kay Parker, Silver Lake; children: Alicia Parker (Justin Davis), Silver Lake; Lance Parker (Jodi Stouder), Silver Lake; Josh Parker (Lichelle Parker), Silver Lake; Kalynn Cumberland (Brian Cumberland), Winona Lake; Malinda Miller, Claypool; Keith Parker (Jessi Parker), Bicknell; Rachel Haney (Jeremiah Haney), Akron; Rebekah Parker (Tasia Smith), Warsaw; Jerrod Parker (Amber Parker), Warsaw; 25 grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; siblings, Terry Parker and Paulette Holsinger (Alan Holsinger).
He was preceded in death by his father, Rex Parker; and mother, Geraldine Warner.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, March 31 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron, with visitation one hour prior to the service.
The interment will take place in the Lakeview Cemetery, Silver Lake, with graveside military rite performed by the Warsaw American Legion Post #49 Honor Guard.
Visitation hours will be from 2 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, March 30 at Hartzler Funeral Home, 305 W. Rochester St., Akron.
