Helen Marie Palmer
Helen Marie Palmer, 85, Peru, formerly of Wabash, died at 3:20 p.m., Monday, March 22, at Miller’s Merry Manor in Peru. She was born Feb. 8, 1936, in Lyons, to Wayne F. and Lula “Marie” (Shorter) Brinson.
Helen was a 1954 graduate of Wabash High School. She married U.L. “Lou” Palmer in Sanford, Florida on March 16, 1989; he died December 3, 2003. Helen worked at Danner’s in Wabash nine years. She was a member of College Corner Brethren Church, and enjoyed reading, mushroom hunting, and loved her family
She is survived by her daughter, Lori (Donald) Hahn of Peru; grandson, Andrew (Kaiti) Metzger of Mountain Home, Ark.; five great grandchildren, Xadrian, Alani, Brandt, Asher, and Izac Metzger, brother, Robert (Shirley) Brinson of Linton; half-brother, David (Margaret) Brinson of LaFontaine; and half-sister, Linda Tucker of Wabash. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, three sisters, and her step-mother, Myrtle Brinson.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m., Thursday, March 25, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Solomon David officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Thursday, at the funeral home.
