Area Accident Reports
Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 12:12 a.m. Monday, March 22, South CR 400W, south of West Crystal Lake Road, Warsaw. Driver: Alivia N. May, 20, East Main Street, Warsaw. May was traveling north on CR 400W when a deer entered the roadway. May swerved her vehicle to avoid hitting the deer. This resulted in her vehicle leaving the roadway and hitting a utility pole. No injuries were reported in the accident. Damage up to $25,000.
- 10:05 p.m. Sunday, March 21, South SR 19, south of West CR 200S, Mentone. Driver: Seth D. Castleman, 19, East John Street, Nappanee. Castleman was traveling north on South SR 19 when his vehicle overcorrected, causing his vehicle to leave the roadway and enter a field. His vehicle then rolled onto its top. Castleman complained of head pain and was checked by medics at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 4:42 p.m. Sunday, March 21, North SR 13, south of East CR 400N, Pierceton. Drivers: Roger L. Falk, 83, North CR 100W, Hartford City; and Linda A. Goshert, 55, East Forest Glen Avenue, Leesburg. Falk was traveling north on North SR 13 and slowed to make a left turn onto East CR 400N when he entered Goshert’s path of travel. Goshert was traveling south on North SR 13. Goshert sustained a minor cut to her left wrist and refused treatment at the scene. Damage up to $50,000.
- 9:39 p.m. Friday, March 19, West CR 1200S, west of South Packerton Road, Claypool. Driver: Isabelle E. Bishop, 19, West Lincolnway, Larwill. Bishop was traveling east on East CR 1200N when a deer entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
- 9:27 p.m. Friday, March 19, North SR 19, south of West CR 700N, Etna Green. Driver: Christian C. Eicher, 32, North CR 800W, Cromwell. Eicher was traveling north on North SR 19 when a dog entered the roadway. Damage up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 8:13 p.m. Saturday, March 20, East Anchorage Road, near US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Christina L. Hoover, 35, North Roosevelt Street, Warsaw; and Eliud Mejia, 18, North Old SR 15 3, Warsaw. Mejia was preparing to make a right turn onto US 30 when his vehicle was rear-ended by Hoover’s. Damage up to $2,500.
- 5:32 a.m. Saturday, March 20, US 30, east of Springhill Road, Warsaw. Driver: Derek D. Mann, 20, South Jamestown Court, Warsaw. Mann was traveling west on Lake City Highway when his vehicle went off the roadway and into a median. It then traveled in the eastbound lanes and a ditch. Mann sustained facial bleeding and was taken to Kosciusko Community Hospital for medical treatment. A passenger in Mann’s vehicle, Kyle L. Blocher, 20, Pierceton, sustained two small facial lacerations but declined treatment at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
- 4:22 p.m. Friday, March 19, 540 E. Market St., Warsaw. Driver: Matthew S. Butcher, 48, Sedlak Lane, Indianapolis. Butcher was turning his vehicle in a parking lot when the trailer of his vehicle hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 3:51 p.m. Friday, March 19, East CR 200N, near North Pound Drive West, Warsaw. Drivers: Hunter D. Littleton, 18, East Lantern Road, Warsaw; and Sandra T. DeSanto, 59, East Evergreen Drive, Warsaw. Littleton was traveling east on East CR 200N when he rear-ended DeSanto’s vehicle. Damage up to $5,000.
- 7:51 a.m. Friday, March 19, 1 Tiger Lane, Warsaw. Driver: Cali R. Stouder, 16, West CR 950S, Silver Lake. Stouder was backing her vehicle from a parking space when she hit a parked, unoccupied vehicle. Damage up to $2,500.
- 7:35 a.m. Thursday, March 18, Argonne Road, near East Winona Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Ruth E. Hoff, 78, West CR 1000S, Akron; and Daylen K. Turner, 18, Jean Street, Winona Lake. Hoff said she was attempting to run north on Argonne Road when Turner’s vehicle also attempted to turn north on Argonne Road, resulting in a collision. Damage up to $2,500.
