ETNA GREEN — The Etna Green Town Council discussed the town’s 2020 water and wastewater utility reports during a brief meeting on Tuesday, March 9.
Clerk-Treasurer Patti Cook invited Amber Nielsen, Baker Tilly senior consultant, to the meeting to present the reports to Council Members Jason Hanes and Susan Klinefelter.
Baker Tilly finalizes the water and sewer reports every March for the previous year in order to monitor spending, as well as capital projects and revenues.
Nielsen said Baker Tilly has not noticed any red flags within the reports and that Etna Green is in line with its budget. She also noted the town would not need to increase its water or wastewater rates anytime soon.
“The town hasn’t had a rate adjustment in several years and we don’t see that being a problem, but it’s good to review that annually just to make sure the budget stays the same and that there’s no huge spending increases due to inflation,” said Nielsen.
The council’s next meeting is at 7 p.m. Tuesday, April 13.
