Joan Elizabeth Ganger
Joan Elizabeth Ganger, 95, of Goshen, passed away Thursday, March 4, 2021, at Greencroft Healthcare.
She was born, one of three sisters, Nov. 24, 1925, in Elkhart County to Harry and Ethel (Harlan) Good.
On June 16, 1946, she married Richard E. Ganger in Milford. He died June 13, 1993.
The mother of five children, Mrs. Ganger is survived by Stephen Ray (Carol) Ganger of Albuquerque, N. M., Lynn (Scott) Bisset of Dallas, Texas, Jan (Richard “Fuzz”) Terry of Middlebury and Lee (Chuck) Grant of Traverse City, Mich.; daughter-in-law, Mary Ganger of Wilmington, N. C.; six grandchildren, Charley Payne, Andrew Ganger, Bess Whitby, Emma Grant and Manuel and Jon Gonzalez; four great-grandchildren, Cearra Longbrake, Caitlyn Payne and Wesley and Brayden Ganger; a sister, Mary Lou (Dale) Weldy of Nancy, Ky.; a number of step-grandchildren; stepgreat-grandchildren; stepgreat-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband; a son, Thomas Jay Ganger in 2011; a sister, Jean in 2008 and two stepgranddaughters.
A lifetime area resident, Mrs. Ganger was office manager for the family business, Ganger TV Sales and Service, which they owned and operated until August 1987.
Mrs. Ganger graduated from Milford High School in 1944 and was a member of the American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, DAV and VFW Women’s Auxiliary. She enjoyed reading, playing euchre and was a fan of Purdue athletics and the Chicago Cubs.
Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday, March 8, at Yoder-Culp Funeral Home. A 1 p.m. Tuesday, funeral service will be held at the funeral home. Son Stephen Ray Ganger will preside.
Burial will follow in Milford Cemetery.
