Fire Damages Smith Street Apartment Building

WARSAW – An apartment building adjacent to Lakeview Middle School sustained damage in an early morning blaze Saturday, March 6.
The fire at 736 E. Smith St., was reported at about 7 a.m. after somebody saw smoke coming out of the top of the roofline on the east end of two-story brick building.
There was no initial indication of injuries. The extent of the damage was unclear.
East Smith Street was closed briefly while the fire was brought under control by Warsaw Wayne Fire Territory.
The fire was under control by 7:30 a.m.
The property is owned by Brian and Elizabeth Parker, of Warsaw, according to Beacon.
