Bridgework East of Nappanee Will Slow Traffic On US 6
News Release
ELKHART – Traffic restrictions will be in place beginning Monday for a stretch of U.S. 6 east of Nappanee for a bridgework.
The construction is happening between S.R. 15 and C.R. 15 near Nappanee, the Indiana Department of Transportation said in a news release.
Crews are scheduled to begin on or after Monday, March 8 and work is set to wrap up by mid-summer.
During the work, one lane of U.S. 6 will be open to motorists. Traffic will be controlled by portable signs and speeds will be reduced to 30 mph in the work zone.
Widths will be restricted to 12 feet during the project. Loads wider than 12 feet should seek an alternate route using the nearest numbered state, U.S. or interstate routes.
