Pierceton Man Accused Of Domestic Battery
Staff Report
NORTH WEBSTER — A Pierceton man was recently arrested for allegedly hitting a woman and grabbing her by the neck.
Anthony Wayne Pollard Jr., 54, 9567 E. Adams Road, Pierceton, is charged with strangulation and domestic battery with a prior conviction, both level 6 felonies; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Dec. 13, 2020, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s officer went to a location in North Webster for a battery report. Upon arrival, the officer met with a woman who said she was battered by Pollard on Dec. 12, 2020.
According to court documents, the woman said she and Pollard were arguing when he grabbed her around her neck, making it difficult for her to breathe. Pollard allegedly hit the woman multiple times on the side of her head, resulting in a swollen bump on the woman’s head. The woman then gathered some items and left the scene.
The woman said she did not initially report the battery since she knew Pollard had a history with law enforcement. The officer went to the location where the battery occurred and attempted to talk with Pollard. However, Pollard did not answer the door.
Pollard was previously convicted of domestic battery in January 2019.
He was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail for this case on March 2, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
