Man Arrested For Throwing Child Through Screen Door
Staff Report
NORTH WEBSTER — A North Webster man was recently arrested after throwing a child through a screen door.
Cody Jacob Felger, 37, 49 EMS W19 Lane, North Webster, is charged with battery to a person less than 14 years of age by a person at least 18 years of age, a level 6 felony; and domestic battery, a class A misdemeanor.
On Jan. 2, a Kosciusko County Sheriff’s officer went to a North Webster residence for a domestic dispute report. Upon arrival, the officer spoke with a woman who said she and a child were visiting Felger at a residence.
According to court documents, the woman said an argument began and Felger told her to leave. While gathering items, Felger allegedly took several of the woman’s items and threw them out of the residence; he also pushed her.
The child then told Felger to not touch the woman. Felger walked over to the child, threatened to beat them up and threw the child out of the residence through a screen door. The officer spoke with the child about the incident. The child confirmed what the woman said and added that Felger had pushed them against a wall before throwing them out of the residence. The residence’s screen door was damaged.
On Jan. 3, the officer contacted Felger over the phone. Felger said an argument did occur and that he told the woman and child to leave. He said while they were leaving, the woman punched him in the eye, causing a bruise. Felger sent a picture of his injury to the officer. He denied pushing or throwing the child.
The officer later contacted the woman, who said she did punch Felger after he threw the child through the screen door.
Felger was booked in the Kosciusko County Jail on Feb. 26, with a $5,250 surety and cash bond.
