Cam Rathbun
Cam Rathbun, 69, Warsaw, and formerly of rural Akron, passed at 7:29 p.m. Friday, Feb. 26, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center of Fort Wayne.
He was born on Dec. 25, 1951, in Warsaw, to the late David William and Leona Marie (Wideman) Rathbun. He married on July 28, 1979, to Patricia M. Braman in the First Presbyterian Church of Rochester, and she survives.
He attended the Talma United Methodist Church in his youth. He was a graduate of Mentone High School in 1970. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and the outdoors, and he loved his family. In earlier years he was active in the Akron Youth League, where he coached girls’ softball, travel teams, and served on the board. He had worked for Dalton Corporation in quality assurance for 40 years, retiring in 2017.
He is survived by his wife: Pat Rathbun, Warsaw; daughters: Gail (Patrick) Crone, Walkerton; and Heather (Bryan) Buckley, Osceola; grandchildren: Natalie Crone, Liam Buckley, and Emma Buckley; and sisters: Carol (Don) Boyer, Mentone; and Sandy (Ellis) Shepherd, Akron.
He was preceded in death by his parents: William and Marie Rathbun.
A private service will be held with the interment taking place in the Mentone Cemetery, Mentone.
Visitation hours will be from 4-7 p.m. Friday, March 5, at King Memorial Home, 101 N. Tucker St., Mentone. Masks will be required for all who are in attendance.
