Christopher Alan Peterson — UPDATED
Christopher Alan “Chris” Peterson, 46, Syracuse, passed away at 9:10 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2021, at his home. He was born Sept. 23, 1974, in Goshen, to Jack A. and Cynthia L. “Cindy” (Thornburg) Peterson.
He graduated in 1993 from Wawasee High School & 1996 from Vincennes University and was a lifetime Syracuse area resident except a short time Churubusco. He was employed in the fiber optics industry and formerly attended the Wawasee Lakeside Chapel in Syracuse.
His fun-loving, lively personality was contagious and guaranteed smiles and laughter to everyone around him. He was a best friend to many, offering help, kindness, and friendship wherever he went. Chris was loved by many and his greatest success in life was in his role as father. He loved his three sons deeply and was devoted to sharing with them the things he loved most in life including sports, fishing, hunting, and the outdoors. He showed them the value of family and friendship and will be missed by everyone he touched along the way.
He is survived by his sons: Lukas, Jack and Tyler Peterson; his mother: Cindy Peterson of Syracuse; his sister, Janay (James) Hackleman of Syracuse.
He was preceded by his father.
Cremation will take place at Cremation Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N SR 15, Warsaw. Visitation will be from 1-4 p.m. on Sunday, Feb. 28, at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. A Celebration of Life service will follow at 4 p.m. on Sunday in the funeral home with Pastor Brad Cox officiating. Private burial will take place in the McClintic Cemetery at a later date.
