Lonnie E. Hochstetler
Lonnie E. Hochstetler, 84, Nappanee, passed away at 3:10 a.m., Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021, at his residence after a brief illness. He was born Oct. 13, 1936, in Elkhart County to Eli J. and Sarah J. (Miller) Hochstetler.
On June 16, 1957, he married Verba D. Mullet. She preceded him in death Sept. 15, 2016. Lonnie was a member of the Old Older Amish Church. He was the former owner of H & H Repair Shop.
Surviving are his children, Everett R. (Joanna) Hochstetler, Patricia D. (Marlon) Schrock, Randal L. (Susie) Hochstetler, Bremen, Dale A. (Esther) Hochstetler, Brian E. (Sarah) Hochstetler, Wanita F. (Richard) Kuhns, James A. (Rebecca) Hochstetler, all of Nappanee; Ernest D. (Dora) Hochstetler, Milford; 41 grandchildren; 41 great-grandchildren; brothers, Marvin (Lorraine) Hochstetler, Goshen, Earl Hochstetler, Nappanee; and a sister, Ellen Chupp, Nappanee.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife; brothers, Willis, Jesse, Omer, Glen Hochstetler; sisters, Verda Hochstetler, Edna Chupp, Lovina Schweitert, Sylvia Lehman, and Mattie Yoder; three grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
Family and friends may call from 1-4:30 p.m. and 5-8 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 25, 10 a.m. -4:30 p.m. and 5- 8 p.m., Friday, Feb. 26, at the family residence 7245 W. 1350 N., Nappanee. Funeral service will begin at 9:30 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 27, also at the family residence. Home Ministry of the Old Older Amish Church will officiate. Burial will be in Weldy Cemetery.
