Sundra “Sunni” Watson
Sundra “Sunni” Watson, 73, Columbia City, passed away Monday, Feb. 15, 2021, at Parkview Regional Medical Center. Born April 5, 1947, in Floyd County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Glines “Glen” and Dixie (Caudill) Mullins.
Sunni was the first-born grandchild on both her parents’ sides. At a young age her father took a job and they moved to Huntington, Indiana and then to Columbia City when she was a teenager. She graduated from Columbia City Joint High School with the Class of 1965. Sunni worked for Weatherhead, DiversiTech, cleaned new homes and had worked at the Columbia City Homeless Shelter. Sunni absolutely loved Motown music. She raised goats, sheep and dogs; enjoyed cooking and cleaning; and in her younger years enjoyed fishing.
Survivors include by her son, Wes (Ronda) Watson; sister, Debra Mullins; brother, Jeff Mullins; sister, Johneine (Todd) Clingerman; nephews, Travis (Heather) Grunawalt and Grady Clingerman; great nephew Cole; and great-niece, Callie. She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant sister, Donna Mullins.
A gravesite service will take place at a later date where she will be laid to rest beside her parents at Greenhill Cemetery. With a love for her animals, Sunni’s family would like memorial donations to be made to the Humane Society of Whitley County. Donations may be mailed to DeMoney-Grimes Funeral Home, 600 Countryside Dr., Columbia City.
