Frank Duane Barr II
Frank Duane Barr II, 65, Pierceton, passed away Tuesday, Feb. 16, 2021, in St. Joseph Hospital, Fort Wayne. Frank was born Feb. 7, 1956, in Wheeling, W. Va., to Frank D. and Margaret A. (Wells) Barr Sr. He was united in marriage to Susanna Saint on June 30, 1984 in Lansdale, Penn.
He spent his early childhood years in Ohio and attended high school in Lawrence, Mich. He graduated from Tri-State with a math major. He moved to Warsaw and worked at Zimmer while he was in college. After college, he worked in telecommunications for 40 plus years. Frank was a coach for a Pierceton Little League team and enjoyed participating in the KCHE Home school athletics program. He was involved in the cub scouts, boy scouts and was a scout master for Troop #761, Pierceton.
He proudly provided for the homeschooling of 3 children and was the sole bread winner. His church attendance included Bethel Baptist Church -Pierceton, Wayside Baptist -Warsaw, First Baptist- Pierceton, Pleasant Grove United Methodist-Warsaw, and Calvary Baptist, Oswego. He will be dearly missed by the Bethel Baptist for his ministry of song leadership.
Frank is survived by his wife of nearly 37 years, Susanna Barr, of Pierceton; children, Dan (Brittany) Barr, Davao, Philippines; Robert (Sandra) Barr, Fort Wayne, and Katherine (Barr) and Austin Collins, Fort Wayne; siblings, Robert (Wanda) Barr, Maryland, Betty Barr, Warsaw; five grandchildren and one on the way.
A visitation will be from 1-3 p.m. and from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 23, at the Bethel Baptist Church, Pierceton. A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Feb. 24, 2021 at the church with a one hour calling prior to the service from 10 a.m.-11 a.m. Pastor Jim Baughman will be officiating the services. Interment will be at a later date.
McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel is entrusted with arrangements for the family.
