Kory M. Farkas, 37, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 14, 2021, at his home.
Born on April 3, 1983, in Milwaukee, Wisc., he was the son of Kalman and Lorinda (Verkins) Farkas.
He attended Culver Community High School, Culver graduating with the class of 2001. He furthered his education by attending Lincoln Technical obtaining an associate’s degree in Automotive Mechanics with the class of 2003. On Aug. 17, 2013 he married Valerie White.
Kory worked as a union laborer for the railroad and for the city of South Bend as a construction worker help build the St. Joseph County Library. He enjoyed hunting, ice fishing, canoeing, kayaking, cooking over a camp fire, drinking beer, shooting pool, playing ping pong. Most importantly he loved camping and going on river adventures with his family and friends.
He is survived by his mother, Lorinda Farkas of Plymouth; wife Valerie Farkas, Plymouth; brothers, Kyle (Mackenzie) Farkas, Walkerton; Kalman Farkas, Hubertus, Wisc.; children: Axton Berger, Aubree Farkas, Evalynn Berger, Aayden Farkas and Kalynn Farkas of Plymouth; as well as several nieces and nephews.
Kory is preceded in death by his father Kal Farkas and sister Vicky Mattox.
Visitation will be held from noon-2 p.m., Monday, Feb. 22, at the Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan Street, Plymouth. Funeral services will immediately follow with Pastor Eric Ahlemeyer officiating.
Burial will take place in the New Oak Hill Cemetery.
