COVID-19 Update: Kosciusko Reports Two New Deaths

WARSAW — Kosciusko County’s COVID-19 positivity rate continues to remain in the “yellow” category for both the state’s advisory level and two-metric score maps.
The county’s positivity rate is 4.6%, according to the Indiana Department of Health dashboard. This is a slight increase from a 3.9% positivity rate reported last week.
IDH relies on a color-coded county map that measures percent positivity and new cases per 100,000 residents. The baseline for red is 15%.
Whitley County continues to remain in the “orange” category on the two-metric map with a 9.9% positivity rate; this rate has decreased since last week. The county remains in the orange category due to its rate of weekly case per 100,000 residents.
Fulton, Marshall and Wabash Counties’ positivity rates have all fallen for two consecutive weeks, moving the counties into the “yellow” category on the “advisory level” map used by the state.
Under Gov. Eric Holcomb’s pandemic requirements, social gatherings of any kind in orange counties are limited to 50 people.
Kosciusko County has also reported two new COVID-19 deaths, bringing the county’s total to 107. The county has 8,459 positive cases.
Wabash County Health Department recently reported one new COVID-19 death, bringing the county’s total to 74. Wabash County has 3,260 positive cases.
More than 2,200 people in Kosciusko County have been fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
An estimated 7,750 people in Kosciusko County have been administered their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. More than 356,000 Hoosiers are considered to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19.
Statewide, the Indiana Department of Health website shows the number of COVID-19 deaths in Indiana rose to 11,825.
The total positive number of reported COVID-19 cases in Indiana is now at 651,453. More than 7,624,000 COVID-19 tests have been administered to Hoosiers.
Locally, Fulton County has 1,751 positive cases and Whitley County has 3,419 positive cases. Marshall County has 5,364 positive cases, Noble County has 5,027 positive cases and Elkhart County has 25,121.
In other northern Indiana counties, Lake County has 47,801 positive cases; Allen County has 35,205 positive cases; and St. Joseph County has 29,100 positive cases.
According to the Johns Hopkins Coronavirus Resource Center, more than 488,000 people in the United States have died due to COVID-19.
