Franklin E. Potter
Franklin E. Potter, 78, Fort Wayne, passed away on Feb. 13, 2021, at his home in Fort Wayne.
He was born in Winchester, on May 8, 1942, to the late Sater and Mary (Mosier) Potter. He spent his formative years in Winchester, graduating from Union High School in 1961. He graduated from Nashville Auto-Diesel College in 1962.
He served in the United States Army as a MP.
Franklin was married to Sandra (Davis) in Winchester, on Nov. 21, 1965. The couple lived in Churubusco for 40 years before relocating to Fort Wayne.
He was a member of the Teamsters Local 414 as a diesel mechanic for more than 40 years, eventually retiring from Super Valu.
He was a member of the Fort Wayne Table Tennis Club and was a certified coach for multiple years. He was a semi-pro table tennis player and won the under-1800 Seniors Singles U.S. Open Table Tennis Championship in 1993 in Indianapolis.
Franklin is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra Potter; his son, Roy Potter; his daughter, Sherry Sinclair; and two grandchildren, Kurtis Potter and Emily Potter.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
His service will take place at Sheets & Childs Funeral Home, Churubusco Chapel, on Wednesday, Feb. 17, at 1 p.m. with calling starting at 11 a.m.
Burial will take place at Eel River Cemetery, Churubusco.
