Alvin ‘Hugh’ Hartz Jr.
Alvin “Hugh” Hartz Jr., 74, passed away on Friday, Feb. 12, 2021, at Miller’s Merry Manor, Culver.
Born on Sept. 18, 1946, in Plymouth, Hugh was the son of the late Alvin H. Hartz Sr. and Vonabelle (White). He graduated from Culver High School with the Class of 1965.
He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War until his honorable discharge in 1967.
On Jan. 6, 1968, Hugh took as his wife Sharon A. Hoffman.
Hugh worked for Del Monte corporation in Plymouth as a machinist until his retirement. He was an avid woodworker and gardener. Hugh was a member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Culver.
He is survived by his loving wife, Sharon, Culver; his sons, Jeff (Lynn) Hartz, Argos, and Troy (Sandra) Hartz, Plymouth; grandchildren Austen, Kaylee and Meghan; and siblings Nick (Aggie) Hartz, Doug (Judy) Hartz and Pam (Douglass) Miller.
Friends are welcome on Saturday, Feb. 20, from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at Johnson-Danielson Funeral Home, 1100 N. Michigan St., Plymouth. A memorial service will begin at 1 p.m. with Pastor Tom Harzula officiating.
