Area Accident Reports
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 4:56 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, East Main Street and North Detroit Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Paul D. Harness, 67, Pine Mills Road, Warsaw, and Yolanda Hinojosa, 50, Pike Shore Drive, Warsaw. Harness was traveling southbound on North Detroit Street approaching the East Main Street, Warsaw, intersection. He said the light turned red and he was unable to stop his vehicle. It hit Hinojosa’s vehicle. Hinojosa and a passenger in her vehicle complained of chest pain and were checked out by medics on scene. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 4:15 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 2501 Walton Blvd., Warsaw. Drivers: Misty L. Wagley, 53, West CR 200S, Warsaw, and Kendall C. Dial, 35, West Section Street, Milford. Wagley was backing her vehicle up in the Walmart parking lot. She didn’t see Dial pulling his vehicle into the parking stall beside her vehicle. Her vehicle backed into Dial’s. Damage: $2,500.
- 3:24 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 900 S. Union St., Warsaw. Driver: John C. Garcia, 17, East CR 200N, Warsaw. Garcia was leaving the Warsaw High School parking lot and driving through the Edgewood Middle School campus. He said he was upset and driving fast on the west side access road that leads to Logan Street on the west side of Edgewood Middle School. The road curved to the left, and when he tried to turn left, his vehicle started sliding due to his speed. The vehicle left the roadway onto the snow-covered grass where it continued to slide and crashed through a chain link fence. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 2:01 p.m. Friday, Feb. 12, 702 S. Buffalo St., Warsaw. Driver: Peggy J. Manuel, 62, North Tepee Drive, Warsaw. Manuel was backing up her vehicle in an attempt to turn around. She said a garbage truck was coming through the lane and she backed her vehicle up to make space. Her vehicle then hit a another parked vehicle. Damage: $2,500.
