WARSAW – As the gymnastics postseason inches closer, Warsaw and Plymouth had a chance to hone their crafts Wednesday in a mixed dual at the Whitman Group facility.
Plymouth bested Warsaw 98-90.3 in the team standings in a meet that also featured individuals from Caston, Rochester and Bremen. Logansport was scheduled to be part of the meet, but did not travel due to a school lockdown Wednesday with a criminal manhunt around the Logansport school property.
Back in the Kosciusko County seat, Sydni Purvis returned to her home equipment for a meet for the first time in several weeks, and had a decent night. The Warsaw ace scored 8.6 on the floor to lead the meet, and was third on both the vault (8.45) and bars (7.9). Her 7.6 on beam added up to a 32.55 all-around tab, third in the meet.
Brooke Bolinger was fourth on vault (8.0) and bars (6.8), and took fourth in all-around at 29.65. Julianne Olson had a 7.65 on floor and Ella Collins’ 7.05 on floor wrapped up the Tiger highlights for the night.
Plymouth’s Dorothy Karris led the meet with a 34.7 all-around, which included the top scores on bars (8.35) and beam (8.9). Tessa Hutchinson added a 9.0 on vault for the Pilgrims.
Among the individual tallies were a 7.85 on floor and 7.8 on beam by Bremen’s Raven White, and 8.0 on vault by Rochester’s Maddy Brouyette. Caston’s Alexa Rinke did not score a varsity figure.
