Toll Road Reopened After Crash, Chemical Spill Near Howe

H0WE – The Indiana Toll Road has reopened for travel in both directions in LaGrange County following a fatal crash involving a semi tractor-trailer that overturned and spilled a load of chemicals.
The accident at the 129.5 mile-marker near Howe shut down traffic in both directions after the accident early Thursday night.
The driver of the semi-tractor trailer died in the crash, but further details. have not yet been released.
The eastbound left lane will remain shut down through late Friday morning until the semi tanker trailer can be removed.
Motorists should plan on delayed travel eastbound on the Toll Road through the late morning hours due to the eastbound lane restriction.
The spill required a temporary evacuation of the immediate area, which has since concluded.
