Willis Hamilton Jr.

Willis Hamilton Jr., 57, Pierceton, passed away quietly Monday, Feb. 1, 2021 in Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. He had been bravely battling a heart condition before his passing.

Born in McDowell, Ky., Willis was the son of Willis Hamilton, Sr. and Sylvia (Newsome) Hamilton. He was one of ten children raised in the family home and grew up in Winona Lake. He attended school in Warsaw and found love in Christ early; he was baptized at the Church of Jesus Christ in Argos.

Willis was easy to talk to and rarely knew a stranger. He was kind, gentle and honest. He enjoyed travelling and meeting new people and has travelled for much of the last twenty years. One of his favorite places to visit was Daytona Beach, Fla., but he was always sure to keep in touch with his family back home, often calling sister, Wonda to touch base.

When he was home, he enjoyed fishing, going to the casino, and spending time with his family.

He is survived by a large extended family but his closest relatives include two children: daughter, Karrie Dennis of Watertown, N.Y.; and son, Jason Hamilton of Wamac, Ill.; two grandsons; eight siblings: Randy Ray Hamilton of Pierceton; Fred Collins of North Webster; Tina (Raymundo) Flores of Pierceton; Patricia Anne (Anselmo “Pancho”) Infante of Warsaw; Bonnie Sue (Roy) Johnson of Warsaw; Wonda Lou Rogers of Warsaw; Mary Sue (Don) Kenoshmeg of Palestine; and Estalena Hamilton of North Webster. Also surviving are two ex-wives, Wanda Hamilton and Regina Hamilton and many nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in passing by his son, Hank Hamilton; brother, Donald Hamilton; sister, Geraldine Hamilton; three nieces and four nephews.

Friends may join the family for a time of visitation at Warsaw’s Titus Funeral Home, 2000 East Sheridan Street, at 11 a.m. Friday, Feb. 5. At 1 p.m. Pastor Phil Chandler of Community Life Center will officiate Willis’ Life Celebration®. Burial will follow the service in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw.
