Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 6:42 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, South SR 15 south of West Union Street, Warsaw. Driver: Taylor L. Friedersdorf, 27, North CR 200W, North Manchester. Friedersdorf was traveling northbound on SR 15 when her vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 6:01 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, South SR 15 north of South Southward Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Laurel A. Lybarger, 65, North Jefferson St., Silver Lake. Lybarger was traveling northbound on SR 15, Warsaw, when she lost control of her vehicle. It spun around, went off the road and hit a pole. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 3:35 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 3762 W. Old Road 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Marlanea G. Kierpaul, 39, West CR 200N, Warsaw, and Angela S. Rodriguez, 43, Oak Brook Place, Warsaw. Kierpaul was pulling onto the roadway when she failed to see and hit Rodriguez’s vehicle with her own. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 2:32 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, East CR 1300N east of North Camelot Trail, Syracuse. Driver: Tess A. Fancil, 19, North Camelot Trail, Milford. Fancil was traveling eastbound on CR 1300N, Syracuse, when she lost control of her vehicle and hit a pole. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 5:18 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, North SR 13 south of EMS B8 Lane, North Webster. Driver: Joshua L. Taylor, 30, Normal Drive, Fort Wayne. Taylor said he lost control of his vehicle due to the snow and his vehicle left the roadway. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 4:51 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, East Armstrong Road east of North CR 75E, Leesburg. Driver: Mark A. Warren, 58, CR 29, Syracuse. Warren was traveling westbound on Armstrong Road, Leesburg, when his vehicle left the roadway and struck a pole. Warren was taken to the hospital after having cuts and pain in his ribs. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 11:21 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, East CR 400S west of South CR 400E, Warsaw. Driver: Brian T. Rhoades, 51, Yarnelle Lane, Warsaw. Rhoades was traveling northbound on South CR 400E approaching East CR 400S, Warsaw. The roadway was snowy and slick. His vehicle slide through the intersection and struck a guardrail. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 10:47 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, East CR 550N west of North CR 200E, Warsaw. Driver: Tiffany N. Hunter, 30, North McKinley Street, Warsaw. Hunter was traveling eastbound on East CR 550N, Warsaw, when her vehicle went into a ditch and hit a sign. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 5:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, North CR 300E south of East Bowser Road, Milford. Driver: Lisa M. Shively, 41, West Hillside Drive, Syracuse. Shively was traveling northbound on North CR 300E, Milford, when she tried to avoid a deer in the roadway. Her vehicle went into a field, causing two flat tires. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 8:55 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, North SR 13 north of East CR 1000N, Syracuse. Driver: James D. Roberts, 57, East Effie Mae Street, North Webster. Roberts was traveling northbound on SR 13, Syracuse, when his vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 4:40 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 6835 E. CR 500N, North Webster. Drivers: Gerardo Malagon, 38, East CR 500N, Leesburg, and Kylie M. Cook, 28, Nye Street, Warsaw. Malagon was backing out of a driveway when he backed his vehicle into Cook’s vehicle, which was traveling eastbound on CR 500N, North Webster. Cook’s vehicle left the roadway and hit a pole. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 3:18 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 5492 N. CR 300W, Leesburg. Driver: Jacob J. Chivington, 19, East North Winds Drive, Warsaw. Chivington was backing up his vehicle when it hit a parked vehicle. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 11:18 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, East CR 500N west of North CR 675E, Warsaw. Driver: Kirk T. Salerno, 56, EMS B25 Lane, Pierceton. Salerno was traveling westbound on East CR 500N, Warsaw, when her vehicle hit a deer. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 7:57 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, 2535 E. US 30, Warsaw. Driver: Destini N. Pimental, 22, Jackson Street, Merrillville. Pimental was backing away from a gas pump and her vehicle hit a pole next to the pump. Damage: Up to $2,500.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 8:54 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, SR 13 north of Syracuse Webster Road, North Webster. Driver: Anthony W. Kelich, 38, North CR 900E, North Webster. Kelich was traveling southbound on SR 13 north of Syracuse Webster Road, North Webster, when a deer ran into his vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 11:58 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, West Huntington Street east of North Blaine Street, North Webster. Drivers: Christy E. Daniels, 32, West Huntington Street, North Webster, and John G. Wells, 76, EMS T4 Lane, North Webster. Daniels was backing her vehicle out of her driveway. She failed to see Wells’ vehicle and struck it with her vehicle. Damage: Up to $2,500.
Syracuse
Officers with the Syracuse Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 9:26 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 3672 E. CR 1300N, Syracuse. Driver: James E. Sizemore, 20, North CR 825E, Syracuse. Sizemore was traveling westbound on CR 1300N, Syracuse, when his vehicle hit a snowdrift. His vehicle started to fishtail, and he couldn’t gain control of it due to the ice and snow on the road. His vehicle left the road and hit a concrete wall. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 11:37 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, Winona Avenue east of Maple Avenue, Warsaw. Drivers: Donn D. Aaron, 50, North CR 400E, Leesburg, and Alfredo Tlahuextl, 42, West CR 250S, Warsaw. Aaron was traveling eastbound on Winona Avenue, Warsaw, behind Tlahuextl. Tlahuextl slowed his vehicle down to enter a parking lot, and Aaron’s vehicle hit Tlahuextl’s. Tlahuextl and his three passengers complained of injuries. Tlahuextl had a bump above his left eye and a small laceration. He was checked out by EMS. Another passenger complained of a bump above his left eye and was checked out at the scene by EMS. Another passenger complained of hitting her head during the accident and was checked out by medics at the scene. A third passenger complained of head and shoulder pain and was taken to the hospital. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 7:35 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, 2101 Dubois Drive, Warsaw. Driver: Pamela K. Arvesen, 60, South Redbud Drive, La Porte. Arvesen was parking when the front tires of her vehicle began to slide on the snow. Her vehicle sideswiped a parked vehicle. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 4 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 700 W. CR 300N, Warsaw. Driver: Bob R. Schisler, 21, East Hatchery Road, Syracuse. Schisler was backing up in the parking lot at Texas Roadhouse, Warsaw, when he backed into another vehicle. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 12:22 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, 1115 W. Lake St., Warsaw. Driver: Lacie S. Haag, 35, Walkers Ridge, Warsaw. Haag was pulling into the Penguin Point drive-thru lane. As she was coming up to the speaker area, her vehicle collided with a pole. She said she didn’t see the pole as she was pulling up and her vehicle slide on a patch of snow/slush in front of the pole. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 8:24 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, North CR 150W and US 30, Warsaw. Drivers: Trenton F. Hairrell, 26, North Crete Drive, Warsaw, and Spencer D. Worley, 39, North Janssen Ave., Chicago, Ill. Hairrell was traveling northbound on North CR 150W approaching the intersection of US 30, Warsaw. He saw Worley in front of him signal that he was going to turn west onto US 30. He said he might have looked down to adjust the heat in his vehicle and thought that Worley was already turning his vehicle west on US 30. His vehicle hit Worley’s. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Winona Lake
Officers with the Winona Lake Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 2:19 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 28, East Winona Avenue and Argonne Road, Winona Lake. Driver: Lori A. Judd, 59, Oakpoint Road, Jackson, Mich. Judd disregarded the established regulatory signs indicating the truck route and turned her vehicle north onto Argonne Road, Winona Lake, which has a clearly marked 13-foot clearance railway viaduct. She traveled northbound and struck the overhead viaduct with her trailer, damaging it. Judd said she was following GPS. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 5:12 a.m. Monday, Feb. 1, SR 14, west of Meridian. A driver reported his vehicle slid off the road and he will be removing the vehicle when it is daylight.
- 4:30 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, SR 25, Rochester. A driver reported his vehicle hit a pile of snow that damaged his vehicle.
- 4:02 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, Wayne Street and Railroad Street, Rochester. Driver: Sierra W. Craig, 21, Argos. Craig’s vehicle struck a stop sign.
- 10:16 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, East Liberty Street and East Street, Kewanna. Drivers: David D. Young, 54, Kewanna, and Rebecca S. Hott, 70, Kewanna. A Ford Explorer and golf cart collided. No injuries reported.
- 8:38 a.m. Sunday, Jan. 31, East Lucas Street and Wentzel Street, Rochester. Drivers: Brian Bright, 52, Rochester, and Jeffery A. Zellers, 47, Rochester. Bright’s vehicle and Zellers’ vehicle collided.
- 10:12 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, South Wabash Road and US 31, Rochester. Driver: Earl D. Shepherd, 49, Rochester. Shepherd’s vehicle slid off the roadway.
- 2:35 p.m. Friday, Jan. 29, Wabash Avenue, Rochester. Drivers: Jeffrey L. Martin, 25, Goshen, and Haresh B. Ejner, 61, South Bend. Martin’s and Ejner’s vehicles collided.
- 7:08 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, US 31 and CR 375N, Rochester. Driver: Jamie L. Sutton, 33, Rochester. Hit deer.
- 6:08 a.m. Friday, Jan. 29, SR 114 and CR 1275E, Akron. Driver: Darrell J. Hopkins, 22, Rochester. Hit deer.
