James Steven ‘Jim’ Corn
James Steven “Jim” Corn, 72, rural Delphi, died at 3 p.m., Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2021, at his home. He was born Feb. 22, 1948, in Wabash, to James and Peggy Joann (Rinearson) Corn.
Jim was a 1966 graduate of Northfield High School, a graduate of International Business College, and received his bachelor degree from St. Francis University in Fort Wayne. He served in the US Army three years. Jim married Janet Kilgore in Baumholder, Germany, July 20, 1970. He was a retired CPA. Jim enjoyed collecting coins, gardening, fishing, cats, watching all sports, and was an avid Chicago Cubs fan.
He is survived by his wife, Janet Corn of Delphi; three children: James A. (Karlee) Corn of Idaville; Julie (Matt) Slaughter of Greenwood; and Joanie Corn of Fowler; six grandchildren: Cassandra Corn and Addison Corn, both of Idaville; Abigail Slaughter, Katelyn Slaughter, and Sarah Slaughter, all of Greenwood; and Charles Corn of Fowler; brothers and sisters: Randy D. Corn and Kristi Hampton, both of Wabash; Doug Corn of Urbana; Todd (Sheila) Corn of Bloomfield; and Tina Reed of Lagro. He was preceded in death by his parents.
Funeral services will be 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 30, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with Pastor Nord Zootman officiating. Burial will be in Center Grove Cemetery, Lincolnville. Friends may call 1-2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
