Marie Elizabeth Westafer
Marie Elizabeth Westafer, 45, passed away at 3:30 p.m., Jan. 25, 2021, at her home, with her family at her side.
Marie was born the daughter of Karen Wiley and Richard Ulrich on June 10, 1975, in Knox. She was a lifetime resident of the area, graduating from Plymouth High School as part of the class of 1993. She married the love of her life, Theodore Westafer, Aug. 22, 1992.
Marie spent many years doing the important work of a homemaker,and she homeschooled her children for over 25 years. She operated the Blue and Gold after school program in Bourbon, where she had an enormous impact on childrens’ lives. She also enjoyed British cooking shows. The things of most importance to her were her children and her relationship with the Holy Spirit, which was evident every day of her life.
Those who will dearly miss Marie are her husband, Ted; sons: Brenton (Kirsten) Westafer, Payton (Amanda) Westafer, Houston Westafer and Boston Westafar; daughters: Lexington Westafer, Leighton Westafer; sister, Stephanie (Eric) Smith of Sacramento, Calif.; and brothers: Mike (Melanie) Ulrich of Kansas City, Mo.; and Marc (Heather) Ulrich of Merriville. Also missing her are her mother, Karen Wiley of Plymouth and father Richard Ulrich of Donaldson.
Marie is preceded in death by her stepfather, Dan Wiley.
Private family services will be held Friday, Jan. 29, at Deaton-Clemens Funeral Home (115 South Main Street, Bourbon, IN 46504). A public graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday at Maple Grove Cemetery in Argos, with Pastor Marc Ulrich officiating. Burial will occur at Maple Grove Cemetery in Argos. Due to current COVID-19 regulations, social distancing and mask wearing are required.
