Richard E. Hays, 87, Warsaw, passed away Jan. 20, 2021, in Miller’s Merry Manor. Richard was born May 26, 1933, in Joplin, Mo. He was united in marriage to Nancy (Martin) Hays in 1957.
Nancy Hays, age 81, passed away Nov. 20, 2020, also in Miller’s Merry Manor. She was born Nov. 8, 1938, in Michigan.
Richard and Nancy are survived by their daughter, Becky (Dan) Brodhead, Warsaw; son, Doug Hays, Fort Wayne; grandchildren: Ben Brodhead, Charleston, N.C.; Jake Brodhead, Acworth, Ga.; great grandchildren: Charlotte Brodhead, and Judah and Asher Brodhead.
Richard retired from Coast to Coast Hardware as a district manager. He was an avid baseball fan, fisherman, and reader. Nancy enjoyed crafts, reading and was very artistic. She was a faithful member of the YMCA for over thirty years. She earned numerous awards as a senior powerlifter. Richard and Nancy were extremely influential in the lives of their grandsons. They faithfully attended school and sporting events, including hundreds of rounds of golf.
There will be no services, and interment will be in Oakwood Cemetery, Warsaw. McHatton-Sadler Funeral Chapel, Warsaw have been entrusted with arrangements for the family of Mr. and Mrs. Hays.
