Philip E. Cripe, 93, Nappanee, passed peacefully surrounded by his family at 12:10 a.m., Monday, Jan. 25, 2021, at his residence. He was born Oct. 10, 1927, in New Paris to Roy and Rosa (Welty) Cripe.
He lived his lifetime in this area. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War. On Oct. 15, 1949, he married Marilyn Haas. They would have celebrated their 72nd anniversary this year. Phil had been a truck driver for Preston Trucking. He was an avid golfer and will be remembered for his sense of humor. He was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Nappanee.
Surviving is his wife, Marilyn; daughter Cyndi Carich, Nappanee; son, Mike Cripe, Windermere, Fla.; grandchildren: Jennifer (David) Marx, Lantana, Texas; Trent (Jill) Cripe, Valrico, Fla.; Lindy (Jason) Lehman, Goshen; Brett (Cecily) Laub, Fredricksburg, Va.; Todd (Jessica) Cripe, Dover, Fla.; and 11 great-grandchildren.
Private services will be held at a later date with inurnment in Bremen Cemetery.
