Patty Britt, 59, Nappanee, died unexpectedly of natural causes at 5:48 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 23, 2021, at Elkhart General Hospital emergency room. She was born July 25, 1961, in St. Joseph County, to Chester and Betty (Swoverland) Mast.
Patty was a lifetime area resident. She was a 1981 graduate of NorthWood High School. Patty was a homemaker and her biggest joy in life was helping people. She was popular among her family and friends and was known around town as the “Bread Lady”. She enjoyed going to garage sales. Patty spent her time volunteering for nonprofit organizations and was active at God’s Closet. Throughout her life she was also an active member in her church.
Surviving is her daughter, Vashti (John) Leonard, Elkhart; significant other, Daniel Christophel, Nappanee; brother, Chester Mast; and close family friends, Mellisa (Jesse) Keb, Lakeville; Chris Voth, Muncie; Scott Weldy, Elkhart; Nathaniel Haines, South Bend; and Chris Scott, Nappanee. She was preceded in death by her parents.
Friends and family may call from 2-4 p.m., Saturday, Jan. 30, at Thompson-Lengacher and Yoder Funeral Home in Nappanee. A memorial service will follow visitation at 4 p.m. with private burial to follow at a later date in Union Center Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers the family asks that people donate in her name to the charity of their choice. The family would like to thank Chris for being with Patty in her final moments.
