Nanette J. ‘Nan’ Eizinger — UPDATED
Nanette J. “Nan” Eizinger, 95, Rochester, passed away at 6:25 a.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at Hickory Creek of Rochester.
Nannette Jane Burke was born Aug. 23, 1925, in Bourbon. She was a treasured daughter of Francis J. (Bud) and Eleanor Cora Sawalish Burke.
Nanette and Dale A. Eizinger were married in 1946. They shared 64 years of life’s adventures. From their union came two handsome sons, Brad and Tim. The family tree continued to grow with the added blessings of two more generations.
As a devoted wife and mother, Nan was an accomplished homemaker who focused on her family and logistics. Her strategic planning allowed the Eizinger household to be a smooth-running operation. She and Dale moved to “Manitou Heights,” and resided in one of the first three homes built in the new development. With a passion for landscaping, she annually planted flowers to add color to enhance the landscape.
Left to cherish Nan’s memory are her son, Tim Eizinger and wife, LeeAnn, Rochester; four grandchildren: Burke Eizinger and wife, Tasha, Mishawaka; Amy Eizinger-Ott and husband, Eric, Greenfield; Eric Eizinger, Grand Rapids, Mich.; Kurt Eizinger, Redwood, Calif.; five great-grandchildren: Collette and Everett Ott, Tressa Eizinger, Mathew and Joshua Eizinger. A new Eizinger edition is on the way in 2021 from Burke and Tasha in March.
Preceding Nan in death are her parents, Francis and Cora Burke, beloved husband Dale, and a son, Brad P. Eizinger in 2004.
Private family services will be held. Interment will be in the Summit Chapel Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Dale Eizinger and Robert Tobey Agricultural Scholarship through the Northern Indiana Community Foundation, 227 E. 9th St. Rochester, IN 46975. Arrangements have been entrusted to the Good Family Funeral Home of Rochester.
