Kosciusko County
Officers with the Kosciusko County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accidents:
- 7:41 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, South CR 450W south of West CR 350S, Claypool. Driver: Connie E. Kretsch, 62, South CR 450W, Claypool. Kretsch was traveling northbound on South CR 450W, Claypool, when a deer hit her vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 5:26 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, South County Farm Road north of West CR 550S, Claypool. Driver: Douglas C. Spangle, 28, Reed Street, Warsaw. Spangle was driving southbound on County Farm Road, Claypool. His vehicle left the roadway, went into a ditch and rolled a few times. Spangle was ejected from the vehicle and suffered a serious head injury. He was taken to the hospital. Damage: Up to $25,000.
- 9:54 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 20, North SR 15 and West CR 900N, Milford. Drivers: Sierra L. Ross, 22, East Old Road 30, Warsaw, and Michael D. Creek, 56, North Glendale Drive, Fort Wayne. Ross was traveling eastbound on CR 900N, coming up to the stop sign at SR 15, Milford. Her vehicle started to slide on the ice and snow on the roadway, causing her vehicle to collide with Creek’s. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 7:05 a.m. Monday, Jan. 18, South CR 1000W north of West CR 800S, Mentone. Driver: Marco I. Guzman, 32, East Rochester Street, Akron. Guzman was traveling northbound on CR 1000W, Mentone, and lost control of his vehicle on the snowy roadway. His vehicle left the roadway and overturned in a field. Damage: Up to $2,500.
North Webster
Officers with the North Webster Police Department investigated the following accident:
- 7:11 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, North SR 13 south of East CR 500N, North Webster. Driver: Dennis L. Holdeman, 37, West Business 30, Columbia City. Holdeman was traveling northbound on SR 13 south of CR 500N, North Webster, when a deer hit his vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
Warsaw
Officers with the Warsaw Police Department investigated the following accidents:
- 9:31 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, East Center Street and SR 15, Warsaw. Drivers: Albert H. McClelland, 86, South East Ridge Drive, Warsaw, and Joel A. Herron, 41, West Bay Bridge Court, Columbia City. McClelland was traveling westbound on East Center Street approaching the intersection at North Detroit Street, Warsaw. He dropped his glasses and bent down to pick them up. His vehicle collided with Herron’s. Damage: Up to $2,500.
- 2:07 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, 2233 E. Center St., Warsaw. Driver: Roger V. Hart, 74, East Dellview Drive, Warsaw. Hart was backing up in the parking lot of the Super Wash car wash when he backed into a parked vehicle. Damage: Up to $5,000.
- 10:17 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, US 30 and Parker Street, Warsaw. Drivers: Timothy M. Roembke, 65, East South Barbee Drive, Pierceton, and Maricela B. Rosales, 24, Tecumseh Street, Warsaw. Rosales was traveling westbound on Lake City Highway in the right lane, Warsaw. She stopped her vehicle at Parker Street and proceeded through the intersection when the light turned green. Roembke was traveling eastbound on Lake City Highway in the northbound turn lane. His vehicle cut in front of Rosales’ vehicle, and their vehicles collided. Roembke left the scene of the accident. Damage: Up to $10,000.
- 9 a.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, US 30, near South CR 250E, Warsaw. Drivers: Keeley A. Mackowicz, 34, North Main Street, South Bend, and Kyla C. Chamberlain, 20, North Pin Oak Court, Columbia City. Mackowicz was traveling west on US 30 when she rear-ended Chamberlain’s vehicle. Mackowicz said she could not see due to the sun. Mackowicz complained of wrist pain due to airbag deployment and was treated by medics at the scene. Damage up to $10,000.
Fulton County
Officers with the Fulton County Sheriff’s Office investigated the following accident:
- 4:25 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 21, CR 350S and CR 500E, Rochester. Drivers: Rebecca A. McIntire, 49, Rochester, and Guido A. Tims, 57, Macy. The two vehicles collided.
