Max Lee Carr
Max Lee Carr, 88, rural Wabash, died at 11:55 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 19, 2021, at his home. He was born June 26, 1932, in Indianapolis, to Elbert and Mabel (Blake) Carr.
Max was a 1951 graduate of Chippewa High School and was US Army veteran. He married Joanne E. Day on May 2, 1953, at the Bachelor Creek Church of Christ in Wabash. Max was a lifelong farmer. He was a member of Bachelor Creek Church of Christ. Max enjoyed bowling, and attending family activities, but farming was his passion.
He is survived by his wife, Joanne E. Carr, Wabash; three children: Gary M. Carr, Wabash; Jody L. Batesole, Fort Wayne; and Dan L. (Rhonda) Carr, Wabash; six grandchildren: Kevin M. (Wendy) Carr, Wabash; Dustin J. (Lindsay) Carr, Dickinson, Texas; Brad W. (Jennifer) Batesole, Bloomington, Ill.; Jeff M. (Lauren) Batesole, Fort Wayne; Travis T. (Lisa) Carr, Tulsa, Okla.; and Devin A. Carr of Columbia, S.C.; and six great-grandchildren: Archer Max and Eleanor Carr, both of Dickinson; Kaylee and Cara Batesole, both of Bloomington; and Adalyn and Mackenzie Batesole, both of Fort Wayne. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister.
Friends may call 2-6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 24, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Ave, Wabash. Burial will be in Memorial Lawns Cemetery, Wabash.
Preferred memorial is Parkview Hospice.
