Mangas Chosen For Fifth CL Award

AVON, Ohio – The Crossroads League Athletes of the Week were announced on Monday, recognizing the league’s top athletes from January 11 through 17. Sports Information Directors from the league institutions nominate student-athletes for the awards and vote on each week’s winners.
Women’s Basketball Player of the Week
Taniece Chapman, Goshen
Chapman led Goshen to wins over Grace and Bethel and posted a double-double in an upset bid against No. 9 Marian to average 17.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and 2.0 steals per game for Goshen. The senior forward shot 54.8 percent from the floor in the three contests.
Men’s Basketball Player of the Week
Kyle Mangas, Indiana Wesleyan
Mangas went a combined 26-of-28 on two-point shots and free throw attempts en route to piling up 43 points in No. 1 Indiana Wesleyan’s 97-89 win at Huntington. Mangas was 15-of-21 overall from the floor for a 71.4-percent clip and made all 12 free throw attempts. The most recent Player of the Week award is the fifth this season for Mangas, who is the three-time reigning conference Player of the Year.
