Nancy Carol Adams
Nancy Carol Adams, 79, Winona Lake, passed away unexpectedly at 7:05 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021, at her residence.
She was born on March 11, 1941, in Leesburg, to Helen Louise (Krouse) and Herschel R. Albert. On Dec. 20, 1959, she married Kent J Adams. They raised five children and shared 61 years of marriage together before she passed away.
Nancy graduated in 1959 from Leesburg High School in Leesburg and earned her Bachelors degree in 1963 from Grace College in Winona Lake, Indiana. After she was married, she and Kent raised their family in Bremen, living there nearly 32 years before returning to Warsaw. Nancy had stated, “I was fortunate to have been able to have been a ‘stay at home’ mom, allowing time to volunteer at church, school and in the community. Also, making it possible to be an active grandma!” Nancy and her husband, Kent, always enjoyed attending the MANY activities of their children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She always kept active in her church and volunteered at Warsaw Evangelical Presbyterian Church, was a member of the Kosciusko County Historical Society, Kosciusko County Homemakers Extension Club, Kosciusko County Extension Board, and a Master Gardener class of 2007. Nancy could always be found tending to her lawn, garden and flowers. She also enjoyed decorating, wallpapering, painting and refinishing furniture. She was never afraid to tackle a new task. One of her favorite pastimes was driving through the rural areas, especially where the Amish live to view their beautiful gardens and shopping at their little specialty shops.
Nancy’s motto was “Grow where planted.” She always said they enjoyed the opportunity to live in many different communities over the years and gained many experiences and friends. When asked what or where she enjoyed the most, “It is always where I AM at the time. Make the most of where you are!” Her smiling face and caring heart will be missed and forever loved by her family and friends.
She will be lovingly remembered by her husband: Kent J Adams, Winona Lake; three sons: Kent (Robin) Adams II, Monticello; Greg (Carol) Adams, Wakarusa; Mark Adams, Issaquah, Wash.; two daughters: Carol (Doug) Jennings, Logansport,; and Leah Ann (James) Self, Noblesville.
