Brent D. Gordon, 68, Syracuse, passed away at 5:20 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 8, 2021, at his home. He was born on June 29, 1952, in Goshen, to Eugene and Doris (Wagner) Gordon.
He was a lifetime Syracuse area resident, attended Syracuse High School, and was a United States Army veteran. He was married on June 29, 2002, in Milford, to Jody L. (Waltz) Miller, who survives. He formerly worked as a bartender at the V.F.W., Lances New Market, and Shopko, all in Syracuse and retired after working at Rinker Boats in Syracuse for 20+ years.
He was a member of the Eagles Lodge and American Legion Post 223 both in Syracuse and was a former member of the V.F.W. in Syracuse.
He is survived by his wife: Jody Gordon of Syracuse; daughter: Reenia Gordon of Warsaw; son: Jeremy (Bobbi Jo) Gordon of Tennessee; stepdaughter: D’Anna (Travis) Buell, of Fort Wayne; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren; brother: Mike (Pam) Gordon of Greensburg.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Theresa Kitson.
Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 13, and one hour prior to services on Thursday at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at noon on Thursday, Jan. 14, 2021, in the funeral home with pastor Matt Landry officiating. Burial will follow in the South Whitley Cemetery with military graveside rites.
Current guidelines regarding public gatherings because of the COVID-19 virus will be implemented regarding face masks and social distancing.
