Beulah Marie Owens Yates
Beulah Marie (Owens) Yates, Claypool, passed away surrounded by family at 4:38 p.m. on Thursday, Jan. 7, 2021, at her residence at the age of 76.

Beulah Yates
She was born on Sept. 19, 1944, in Prestonsburg, Ky., to Mary (Adams) Owens and Jonnie Owens.
On April 16, 1960, she married George Willard Yates. Together they raised three sons and one daughter and experienced the joy of becoming grandparents and great-grandparents. They made many great memories throughout their 58 years of marriage before George passed away on Dec. 21, 2018.
Beulah was a lifetime resident of Claypool where she was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church of Kosciusko County. She was her husband’s constant and faithful companion, sharing the ups and downs of marriage and life. Beulah was always there for her family and made sure to provide what was needed to make their home a loving place. She worked for 15 years at Miller’s Merry Manor, Warsaw, where she was the housekeeping supervisor, as well as for six years at Kosciusko Community Hospital, Warsaw.
Beulah enjoyed tending to her flower garden and always thought of others before herself. She was known to her children as being a neat freak, but to Beulah, she just enjoyed cleanliness and order. First and foremost, she loved her Lord and Savior, and she dearly loved her family and will forever be loved and remembered by all who were fortunate to have known her.
She will be lovingly remembered by her three sons, Willard (Angel) Yates, Arizona, Vincent E. Yates, Claypool, and Greg (Kathy) Yates, Warsaw; daughter Lorraine (Jerry) Brown, Columbia City; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Also surviving are three brothers, Curt Owens, Warsaw, Orville Owens, Warsaw, and John Owens, Mentone; and two sisters, Madie Campbell, Ohio, and Alice Brown, Burket.
She was preceded in death by her parents; two sisters; and two brothers.
Beulah’s life will be celebrated with a funeral service that will be conducted at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, at First Free Will Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, 58 W. 700 S. (700 South and County Farm Road), Claypool, and be officiated by Pastor Terry Bradford. There will be visitation prior to the service from 11 a.m.-1 p.m. at the church. Burial will follow with a graveside service at Graceland Cemetery in Claypool. Arrangements were entrusted to Redpath-Fruth Funeral Home, Warsaw.
Memorial donations may be directed to First Free Will Baptist Church of Kosciusko County, P.O. Box 43, Claypool, IN 46510-0043, and would be appreciated by the family.
