Fred Lamar Curtis
Fred Lamar Curtis, 90, Syracuse, passed away at 3:48 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at his home. He was born Jan. 25, 1930, in Nappanee, to Ora and Hazel Curtis.
He graduated from Nappanee High School was a United States Army veteran, and was a lifetime Nappanee and Syracuse area resident. He was married on March 26, 1983, in South Bend, to Eva E. (Habler) Skelton who survives and was the former owner and operator of Curtis TV & andppliance in Nappanee for over 50 years.
He was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Syracuse and formerly attended Church of the Brethren in Nappanee.
He is survived by his wife, Eva; daughter: Kellie (Brian) Curtis – Malone of Granger; two sons: Barton (Sara) Curtis of Warsaw and Christopher Curtis of Osceola; 13 grandchildren and several great-grandchildren; stepdaughter: Michele (Jonathan) Mishler of Syracuse; two stepsons: Mark Skelton of Pennsylvania and Robert Skelton of Bristol
He was preceded in death by his parents, son, Darin Curtis, and two brothers: Dan and Ken Curtis.
Visitation will be from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 11, 2021 at Owen Family Funeral Home, 1001 S. Huntington St., Syracuse. Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 12, in the funeral home with Pastor David Henry officiating. Cremation will follow at Cremation s Services of Kosciusko County, 4356 N. SR 15, Warsaw.
