Barbara A. Klopfenstein
Barbara A. Klopfenstein, 81, Columbia City, died peacefully at her home at 4:14 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021.
Born Jan. 21, 1939, in Fort Wayne, she was a daughter of the late Carl H. and Gertrude L. (Simon) Snepp. Raised in Columbia City, she graduated from Columbia City High School in 1957.
A life-long resident of Columbia City, she worked for Dana/Weatherhead, Columbia City, for 34 years in the receiving department.
She was a member of the Columbia City Church of the Nazarene, UAW local 1404, and her family of friends and high school classmates club – GGOL ’57, who met weekly for breakfast. She enjoyed electronic solitaire and carried it with her wherever she went.
Surviving are her two sons, Kary K. (Jody) Klopfenstein of Columbia City and David A. (Tam) Klopfenstein of Fort Worth, Texas; grandchildren, Kiel (Krysta) Klopfenstein, Kendal (Logan) Sanders, Drake Klopfenstein, Alex Klopfenstein, Austin Klopfenstein, and Cole Klopfenstein; great-grandchildren, Holly and Elias Klopfenstein, and Kristy Sanders; and her special caretakers, Chloe Gebert and Andrea Privett.
Additionally, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ansley Snepp.
The funeral service is 2 p.m. Tuesday at Smith & Sons Funeral Home, Columbia City. Burial is at the South Park Annex Cemetery. Visitation is Tuesday from noon until the funeral at the funeral home.
