Carl Raymond Cloud, 85, Claypool, formerly of Wabash, died at 2:40 p.m., on Thursday, Dec. 31, 2020, at his home on Beaver Dam Lake. He was born on Tuesday, Aug. 6, 1935, in Wabash, to Edward and Margaret (Brauneller) Whistler.

Carl was a graduate of LaFontaine High School and was a US Army veteran. He married Lois J. Bennett in LaFontaine, Indiana on Aug. 8, 1961; she died July 23, 2020. Carl was a Wabash City Fireman, retiring after 35 years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and living on Beaver Dam Lake.

He is survived by his son, William “Bill” (Amie) Cloud of Claypool, four grandchildren, and six great grandchildren. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brother, Eugene Cloud, and step brother, Eugene Taylor.

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021, at Grandstaff-Hentgen Funeral Service, 1241 Manchester Avenue, Wabash, with David Phillips officiating. Entombment will be in Gardens of Memory Cemetery, Marion. Friends may call one hour prior to the service Wednesday, at the funeral home.
